We all wished for good weather before the ceremony so the wedding party could walk outside to porch ... and then enter through the opposite the fireplace in the hall.
Kathryn really wanted to be married there.
The candlelight set the mood - romantic - and seasonal floral arrangements by Willows and Bloom set the tone - autumnal.
Kale presided over the columns next to the fireplace.
Thistle highlighted some of the centerpieces, while sage and "biege" roses were the stars of others.
Prior to the wedding, the bride, groom and wedding party hung out upstairs in the comfortable lounge area. It is so convenient and has a rest room too. Very nice.
Kathryn found a place on the floor, her dress spreading out around her.
The storm passed by about 30 minutes before the ceremony. Kathryn and her father followed the wedding party to the "staging area." Two of the guys held a sheet to protect the bride from being seen by the guests. It was an thoughtful and sweet touch ... working out just as Kathryn wanted!
Everyone lined up on the porch. As you can see, the bridesmaids wore rich charcoal-colored dresses. It was a beautiful color.
It was the moment to walk down the aisle. Kathryn was looking excited and happy and eager and marvelous.
Those sitting on the aisle prepared to shower Katheryn and her father, Sid, with rose petals.
The ceremony began: sweet and simple with traditional vows.
Watching as they exchanged rings, you could feel the love Neil and Kathryn shared! Isn't that the best!!!
And then there was the anticipation just before Neil and Kathryn were pronounced "husband and wife!"
The two were looking pretty happy.
Back upstairs for the "bustling."
And the signing of the marriage documents.
Then the cocktail hour, dinner, toasts and dancing.
The second fireplace was decorated with photos of Neil and Kathryn, while the bookcase in the other room held childhood photos along with images of their parents' weddings.
Sid did a great job and kept the attention of everyone.
Neil and Kathryn listened intently, hand in hand.
The cake was a hit! It had a chocolate layer which greatly pleased Kent. I think the other two layers were carrot cake and lemon (don't quote me on that).
I love watching the bride and groom dance ... and then looking around the room and seeing all the couples holding hands as they look on.
Wishing Mr. and Mrs. all the love in the world for all the days of their lives!
