We have been so blessed with great weather this summer and their wedding day was no exception.  Sunshine just added an extra glow to everyone's happiness.

Ania and Chad include Blessing Stones in their wedding ceremony - Kent Buttars, Seattle Wedding Officiant

Since they ceremony took place very close to the water, the two decided to include Blessing Stones.  They each had a stone which they threw into the water, with the entwining ripples representing their love.  As the circles extended out, it symbolized their love radiating out into their community of family and friends and then into the broader world.

Lovely Summer Evening Wedding Ceremony at JM Cellars

The bride and groom stand under the trellis at JM Cellars - Photo by Patricia Stimac, Seattle Wedding Officiant

This weekend was filled with wonderful weddings ... and great couples!

Forrest and Heidi exchanged their wedding vows at JM Cellars.  It was an  intimate wedding and so very elegant.

The ceremony area took place in a woodland glen which has a rustic arch.  Loved how it was asymmetrically decorated.  So striking.

Music was provided by Puget Sound Strings.

Since it was a lovely summer night, the cocktail hour and reception were outside as well.  Lisa Dupar and Company provided the food.

And, of course, the wine was from JM Cellars.

A Destination Wedding to Paradise -- Dave and Sacha are Married!

Sacha & Dave, Destination Wedding Video from Playfish Media on Vimeo.

I had the good fortune of being invited to officiate for Dave and Sacha on the North Shore of Oahu.  It was an incredible experience.  The two rented two (very large and beautiful) houses for them and their guests because they wanted a "family" feel to the celebration. It was a great time.

Check out the video.

Dima and Rebecca - A Wedding Atop Crystal Mountain!

OK ... Rebecca and Dima have very good taste.  This wonderful couple knows there are few places more stunning than the views from Crystal Mountain.  Their wedding day was a bit overcast in the morning but cleared in time for the ceremony.

Awesome!

We all rode the gondola -- about a 10 minute or so trip -- to the wedding site.  Flowers to decorate the area, along with all the guests made their way up.

The timing was perfect.  Right after the ceremony ended, there were notifications of a possible thunder storm and everyone was ushered back to the gondola.

The reception was so much fun.  Dima and Rebecca's personalities really shone through.  Dima taught Rebecca to ski so this snowboard "guest book," was just perfect.  The first time I've seen this idea.

The two also are fans of IPAs and brewed their own Hoppity version as favors, along with a glass that read "Eat, Drink and be Married."

Hope to share more photos soon!

Wishing Rebecca and Dima, many years enjoying the slopes, the brews and their love!

Marriage and Mindfulness --Think of the Possibilities!!!

I was listening to the "Interfaith Amigos" (Pastor Don Mackenzie, Imam Jamal Rahman, and Rabbi Ted Falcon) about mindfulness.  This has been my focus for some time now and it was very inspiring to hear what these three people had to say.  They spent some time talking about mindfulness in relationship.

What I took away from the radio segment was the importance of being in the present.  Not slipping into habit which can lead to a stale quality of being between two people but creating ritual or a way to remain truly present with the person you love.

Whether you believe in a god or God or no god, I think there are ways to do this.  So today, I experimented in my our life and love.  Whenever something occurred that was difficult, I said "What if I was loving and brought peace and harmony to this situation."

That simple sentence really kept me centered on what was happening.  And often brought a flood of love into my life.  It wasn't easy ... yet I would like to try this again tomorrow.  I really like the idea that what I do, no matter if it is driving my car in a way that brings more love and peace into the world or the way I'm washing a window or writing an email or being welcomed home by Kent, I do with consciousness and mindfulness.

Wow ... just imagine what could be possible in relationship!
