Samuel and Sarafina Wed in Seattle

Samuel and Sarafina -- Photo by Patricia Stimac, Seattle Wedding Officiant
We are so delighted to meet couples from all over the world who marry in our home/office.  One of these incredible brides and grooms is Samuel and Sarafina from Ghana.

When Samuel called to arrange the wedding details, he asked if we had a place where he could change.  Yes, of course.

He arrived with his suitcase and ta-da ... this is how he looked.  Both he and Sarafina and their daughter are so striking.

It was great to see the transformation.  The ceremony took place on a rather chilly November day but inside we were warm and toasty.

Here is the family!

Wedding Invite Party for Molly and Greg

I'd like to introduce one of our very amazing nieces - Molly - and her soon-to-be husband, Greg.  Yes, Molly is quite happy that Greg is focused on doing his part to create their wedding invites!

Most of the time, Molly herself was very focused.  Her father, Mike, thought he would create some art with the sunflower design residue.  So perhaps this would be titled "Sunflower Voids and Molly."

And, here's the kitchen crew:  my future inlaw (I think that's the relationship or close enough), Cheryl, me and my sister, Jeanne.  A crew is only as good as the food served.  We had really good food!

All in all, 15 folks (family and wedding party members) showed up to make the bride and groom's (well, mainly the bride's) invite ideas a reality.  We have a small house and there were people everywhere.  It was so much fun!

Here, Cheryl, Kent and Gary (Cheryl and Gary are Greg''s parents) are doing their part.  Greg trimmed the cardstock, Kent helped cut the shape, Cheryl prepared the burlap. There was true community spirit.

Molly stayed in touch with everyone.  Tea (in the photo) and Christina are friends from high school who added embellishment cut-outs and raffia ties.  Both really added to the artistry of the finished project.

Friends from SU (Winny, Jen and Caitlin) focused on addressing the envelopes, which looked great.

Kathryn, another of our talented nieces, helped with the burlap too. Then, she braved the outdoors to assist Molly with the gluing.

Molly really settled into the gluing.  It was a truly messy job ... but she did great!

Next step, punch the holes for the raffia ties.   Kent took to our very messy basement for this part of the job.  He and Mike did great in his subterranean man cave.

Step by step, the invites came together.  Greg was quite happy!!!  (And Molly said they turned out better than she expected ...  I wonder what she was expecting?!)

Would like to share the design ... but have to keep it secret for a bit.

Great job everyone!

Rain Doesn't Dampen Ryan and Sarah's Wedding At Rock Creek Gardens

Sarah & Ryan at Rock Creek Gardens - Posted by Patricia Stimac, Seattle Wedding Officiant

Friends are good, especially friends who introduce you to the love of your life.  For Ryan and Sarah, it was one of their bridesmaids, Crystal, and one of their groomsmen, Brian.

The guys were dressed and ready to go.

And the ladies were jumping with joy!

This is Sarah and Ryan's first look.

It was raining lightly by the time the ceremony began.  Sarah and Ryan weren't bothered by it a bit.

Everything looked so beautiful!

There were some very special elements in the ceremony.  One of my favorites is creating a circle from rose petals within which Sarah and Ryan exchanged their vows.

The bride and groom decided to do a handfasting.  They asked family members to drape each of the cords to reflect the aspects they value in their relationship.  For example, the green cord is the cord of renewal.  It was the wish for their love to be the wellspring that nourishes the two, refreshes them and allows them to share their inner selves.

Afterwards, Ryan and Sarah presented each other a red rose.  Their first gift to each other.  A symbol of their true and abiding love.

Then it was time for the kiss to seal their vows.

Afterwards, we took a moment to admire Sarah's ring and to sign the marriage documents.

Because of the rain and the number of unity elements during the ceremony, Sarah and Ryan decided to light their unity candle before cutting their cake.  I really like it when we creatively think of ways to include everything the bride and groom would like to do.

The reception decor was dramatic and bright.  It was perfect for the day.

As I said during the ceremony, wishing that Ryan and Sarah always remain sweethearts, helpmates and the best of friends!

Thank you so much for officiating our ceremony. Even in the rain, it was an unbelievable experience for us as well as our guests and a perfect expression of our love for each other. Everything went so smoothly and you helped us create a ceremony that really was special and unique.  We have framed our vow cards to forever remind us of those words we spoke on our wedding day ... words you helped us put together.  Working with you was a blessing.  We would love to write a review for you so that other couples can enjoy the same experience that we were able to have, something everyone should get to experience on their wedding day.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.  ~ Sarah and Ryan

Gwen and Ryan to Wed at Lake Wilderness Lodge in June

Gwen and Ryan at Ocean Shores - Posted by Patricia Stimac, Seattle Wedding Officiant

This is a photo taken just a few weeks ago at Ocean Shores. Ryan and Gwen and their friends were having dinner at their hotel.  Looking out, they saw the sunset.  It was so amazing, they left midway through eating and went out to enjoy it.  Don't they look happy!  The two are really excited to be married and to spend the rest of their lives together.

W
e'll soon be getting together for their planning session.  Kent and I are very fortunate to have so many wonderful people in our lives.
