Perfect Day, Perfect Ceremony

Mike & Mark wed at the Hall at Fauntleroy - Patricia Stimac, Seattle Wedding Officiant

We can't say enough about how Pat helped make our ceremony special. From the writing and development of the actual ceremony to providing a calming and reassuring helpful hand, Pat's knowledge and experience was the glue that kept the ceremony running smoothly.

The words she spoke and the calm, peaceful and loving way in which she spoke them gave extra special meaning to them.

Pat introduced us to the idea of a 'ring warming', which provided an extra special meaning to the exchange of rings for me, my husband, and all of our guests. One of our friends from the east coast is hoping to include it as part of his ceremony as well. Thanks you so much Pat [and Kent!] for you all your help and guidance on such a memorable day.

The couple wed in August at the Hall in Fauntleroy.  It was a beautiful day.  Their sisters, Melissa and Allison, stood up with them.  It was a very significant moment and I don't think there was a dry eye among us.

At times, the serious implications of the moment were experienced.

Beagles and Wedding -- the Best of Puppy Love!

Dede and Leah and their Children - Patricia Stimac, Seattle Wedding Officiant

What a fun wedding!

Dede and Leah planned a quick elopement ... and when their family and friends heard about it, about 15 or so made their way to the ceremony.

Including their children ... and three adorable Beagle puppies!

Just weeks old, the puppies were irresistible.  Everyone wanted to pick them up and cuddle them.

Some coos were certainly in order.

What's the Best Way to Celebrate Your 17th Anniversary? Get Married, of course!

"Dear family and friends, we have gathered together to celebrate love.  It is with thoughtfulness and a deep realization of their commitment to each other that Kathy and Carin have chosen to stand before you today and make this declaration of love and loyalty on their 17th anniversary of their commitment to each other."
And so their wedding ceremony began.

I truly enjoyed meeting Carin and Kathy ... and their family and friends.

The two crafted beautiful wording and two of Carin's nieces, who traveled from California to be in Monroe, song a medley of four love songs.

Kathy and Carin exchanged their wedding vows at the home of Travis, a close mutual friend.  They are standing in front of some amazing 35-year-old blueberry bushes that would be the envy of any gardener.

And check out these cake toppers.  A relative of Carin's brought them from her native country, The Netherlands.  They are so cute!!!!

The "brides" are sitting atop an almond cake, another Netherlands tradition.

Wishing the two another 17 sweet, sweet years together ... and then another .... and another!

Jill and Chris are legally married! Woohoo!!!

Chris & Jill in Ballard - Patricia Stimac, Seattle Wedding Officiant
This was a most wonderful day!  Jill and Chris traveled from Michigan to wed in Seattle.  We had talked on the phone and created their ceremony long distance so it was a true pleasure to actual meet these two great ladies.

Jill's brother lives in Ballard, which is where the wedding took place.

The two along with family members went to Pike Place Market to buy some flowers for their wedding and to take in the sights and sounds and tastes.

In preparation for the big moment, Chris connected via Skype with her 91-year-old mother and other family members.  Technology can be so useful at times ... and this is one of them.

While that connection was being made, I was filling out the marriage documents which would be signed after the ceremony.

We all gathered in the living room.  Generations of family.  It was a sweet moment.

The nieces, Madeleine and Gillian presented this reading, which I love.  Here are a few lines:
You are not the air that I breathe,
You are the sweet scent that drifts upon it
You are not the sounds that I hear,
You are the music of my life ...

... It is your friendship that guides me as I learn and grow
It is your patience and wisdom that calms my restless nature
It is through you that I know my true self

Jill and Chris shared their vows, then read a poem written by Richard W. Weber.  They have read it to each other on every Christmas they have been together.

Chris:     I give to you my heart and soul

Jill:         I give to you

               Life within my hand

And all happiness that I can

Chris:     I give to you

               Part of me

And all for what I stand

Jill:         I give to you

               The moment shared

When two people touch hand in hand

Chris:     I give to you

               The sunset

               And the fallen night

               With its stars so bright

Chris and Jill:

               I give to you

  The life we can share

And all the love that I can.

Todd and Barbara presented the rings. Jill gave Chris a ring of silver and gold on their first Christmas together in 1984 – the silver a symbol of the newness of their friendship and the gold, a symbol that they would become old friends together.

On their 16th Christmas together, they had matching rings of woven silver and gold made.  Those rings were then been wrapped in bands of gold melted from rings given by Jill and Chris’s mothers to created their wedding bands.

Then, Emily and Jeanne, performed Grow Old Along With Me.  Chris and Jill love music and this song was so perfect.

Dramatic Space for a Remarkable Wedding!

EMP wedding of Noelle and Lisa

Meet Noelle and Lisa.  They traveled from Arizona to wed at the EMP in front of the Guitar Tower.  Music is an important part of their lives and it was their dream to exchange their wedding vows there.

The 20' instrument sculpture constructed mainly of guitars is backdropped by the Sky Chuch.  What an awesome place to marry!  And, the staff at the EMP were incredible in helping arrange everything.  (For more information about the Tower, check out this short video.

Marriage is a commitment to life...to the best that two people can find and bring out of each other. It offers sharing and growth no other human relationship can equal, a physical and emotional joining that is promised for a lifetime...

So their ceremony began.

Lisa and Noelle decided to include a hand ceremony in their celebration.  This is an excerpt:

These are the hands of your best friend, young and strong and full of love for you, that are holding yours on your wedding day as you promise to love each other today, tomorrow and forever.

This was followed by personal vows, some of the best I've ever heard!

Time to sign their marriage certificate: Lisa and Noelle make it legal!

Then, it was time to make it LEGAL!  Wow ... what can you say.  It was a moment filled with emotion.

And so Noelle and Lisa begin their lives as wife and wife.  Wishing the two many, many years of happiness together.
