Wow! What a gorgeous setting for a wedding!!

The Chihuly Garden and Glass Museum offered so many photogenic spots, as you will see in this post.

Bonnie was dazzling in white ... so was Manson in his white morning coat.

The glasswork is impressive.  Susan Haas provided lovely harp music, including Manson's entry song - Sugar by Levine.

Jason and Corbett to Wed at Robinswood House

Corbett and Jason - aren't they adorable? - are pretty excited to be getting married! And Kent is very excited to be officiating for them.

Here's a bit of their love story:

We met working at Target in downtown Seattle.  I (Corbett) had just moved to Seattle from California in March 2013 and started working at Target, while Jason transferred into my store when he moved here from Vegas in July of 2013.  We have been together since November 2013 and got engaged after a very quiet, but surprise, proposal in our home in March 2014.  We will be getting married at Robinswood House in April and are so excited to have Pat and Kent's help in creating our ceremony and officiating on our wedding day!

So happy for the bride and groom.  There is nothing better than finding that "Person" to share life with.

The Canal Hosts Jon and Juanita's Wedding

Kent and I love hearing from the couples we officiate for.  

Yesterday, we received an email from Juanita and Jon, along with these photos and some very kind words.

The bride and groom wed at The Canal.  It was a beautiful day.

We just celebrated our one-year anniversary last week and we were talking about how wonderful you both were and how many compliments we got on the ceremony! It was such a happy day for both of us and it wouldn't have been the same without you guys. Thank you so much for everything!

Live, Love, Laugh - Perfectly Describes Nikki and Andrew's Wedding

Love and happiness ~ so apparent with Nikki and Andrew.  The two wed at the Cedar River Watershed Education Center.

The wedding party was definitely up for celebrating.

The flower girls were cute as buttons!

The Nature Center is such a natural beautiful place.  It has a relaxed feel and reminds me of how amazing the world is.

Trash the Dress - Water Fun at Rattlesnake Lake

Andrew and Nikki love the Pacific NW:  the water, the mountains, the Sound and the ocean and lots of lakes.  They enjoy the outdoors and hiking and all types of nature activities.  The two chose to wed at the Cedar River Watershed Education Center, which is a lovely natural venue, right on Rattlesnake Lake.

After the ceremony and reception, it was time for a little water fun.  Yes, it was a warm day and the water felt good. 











It reminded me of younger days when we lived near a lake in Northern Minnesota. (Well, actually two lakes - one for swimming and one for fishing.)  

Doesn't this look like fun!

Very spontaneous and full of life, just like Nikki and Andrew.

One Plus One Equals True Love!

There really is something about love that is magical.  When I see couples walking hand in hand or stopping for a hug or a kiss, it warms my heart.  (OK, PDA of this sort is fine by me.)

Jeremy and Brittney are definitely in love!  We got together recently to focus on the wording of their ceremony.  Of course, we get to hear how the two of them met and fell in love.  (We really like that part.)

The two are going to celebrate their good fortune this fall at Hidden Meadows.  So happy they have found their "one" and looking forward to continuing to co-create a perfectly them ceremony.

Grand Ridge Manor to Host Andres and Danielle's Wedding!

Love began at the gym for Andres and Danielle.  He was working there and Danielle was taking a small step into gym life.  It was perfect!  Danielle soon made friends with several ladies preparing for a body building competition and decided to do the same.




A great incentive was seeing that big, beautiful smile on Andres' face every time she worked it.  Now that's inspiration.

Soon the two were making small talk near the vending machine, which led to lunch ... and, well, the rest is history.

In a few weeks, the two will become "husband and wife" at Grand Ridge Manor and will begin their life together as a married couple.  Wishing them the very best!!

Marriage, Coffee Grinder and Wooden Egg

OK ... there is a story to this photo.

The coffee grinder was a present given to Kent's parents for their wedding in 1932.  It has been consistently used for decades.  When Kent inherited the grinder, he did a bit of refurbishing (he was an engineer in a former phase of life) and the grinder has continued to be of service for over another 40 years.  Can you believe we've been together that long?

The canning jar with the French Roast coffee (or Green Tea) was a wedding favor from Chris and Jenn, who wed this weekend at Wallace Falls Lodge.   It fit perfectly on the grinder (and French Roast is Kent's favorite).

Atop that is a wooden egg with the couple's name burned into it.  It now a home as part of the coffee grinder collection.  Both are welcome favors and much appreciated.  Many thanks to Jenn and Chris ... and happiness all their years together!

Nice Couple Creates "Nicer Foods"

Kent had the honor of officiating for Jessie and Kate (seen here with their daughter Zannie) last year on Camano Island.

As we reach out to couples and their support for the Seattle Bride Magazine Best of 2015 poll, we often hear back what people are currently interested in and what the news is in their lives.  We love those emails!

Heard back from Kate and Jessie that they have been really, really busy starting a new business:  Nicer Foods, which specializes in protein bars for people with digestive issues like Crohns, colitis, etc.

Kate is a dietician and developed bars that are wheat free, dairy free, corn free, soy free plus are low in fermentable carbs called FODMAPS.  This is a wonderful combination.  The bars can be purchased online at Nicer Foods.

Monte Cristo Ballroom Wedding Planned for the Fall

All couples are excited about their engagement and upcoming wedding ... and their enthusiasm is always contagious!

The day Kent and I met with Lenae, she was going on to check out a wedding dress that she suspected would be the ONE!  Double happiness!!

Kent will be officiating for Lenae and Brett in Everett at the Monte Cristo Ballroom.  I'm delighted to be helping them create a wedding ceremony perfect for them.

So happy for Brett and Lenae.  Wishing them the best during their engagement!

Children - Cuteness - Wedding Ceremony - Some Tips

Kent officiated for Jeff and Lisa at A Chapel on Swans Trail this summer.  They included four young people in the wedding ceremony procession:  these were the two youngest.




 


Children can certainly add an element of sweetness and life to the proceedings.

And they are just so very cute!

Here are some things we've learned to make things go well.

We invite the youngsters to the rehearsal and encourage them to "practice" with their parents. 

It is generally most workable when one parent or person the child feels comfortable with is there at the lineup and another is upfront to "call" them forward.

If the child gets "stuck" somewhere coming down the aisle, it is a good idea to have someone be the designated "swooper" to help them along. (The aisle is special but an adult other than those in the wedding party can step into if needed.)

Lots of sugary treats before the actual ceremony are not a great idea. Other options might include some quiet time, a short nap, reading a story together, playing with a favorite toy, having an adult just sitting with the young one and talking about what is happening ...

If you're planning a celebration and can include a child or two, it is always a good idea!

Having Fun with Wedding Photos!

Glenn and Delton have a very playful side!  The two let their personalities shine through in this series of photos at Pike Place Market.

What I like about them is how light-hearted and just plain fun they are.  They make me smile!

And they are imaginative and interactive.  My husband, Kent. officiated for the two and really enjoyed the experience ...you can see why!

Of course, they did sweet photos as well.  

So glad they had time to do this series.  I'm sure they will regard them with happiness in the future...a key to good memories.

And here they are.  Happy, smiling and just glad to be enjoying their wedding day.

Wedding Rehearsals are So Very Valuable For Everyone To Feel Confident and Relaxed

Erica Leigh and Alex had so much fun practicing how to do their ring exchange for their upcoming wedding ceremony.  They liked the "practice rings" so much that they decided to take a photo.

Walking through the actions of the ceremony (not the wording -- want to keep that as a surprise for the wedding day) gives everyone involved from the bride and groom to their parents and wedding party an idea of what's going to happen.

The difference in both the "look" of the wedding ceremony, as well as the tone of it, makes a huge difference.  People are more relaxed (such a good thing on the wedding day) and more knowledgeable about what to do.

If you're planning your ceremony, consider having a rehearsal too.  You'll be glad you did!
