The Canal Hosts Jon and Juanita's Wedding

Kent and I love hearing from the couples we officiate for.  

Yesterday, we received an email from Juanita and Jon, along with these photos and some very kind words.

The bride and groom wed at The Canal.  It was a beautiful day.

We just celebrated our one-year anniversary last week and we were talking about how wonderful you both were and how many compliments we got on the ceremony! It was such a happy day for both of us and it wouldn't have been the same without you guys. Thank you so much for everything!

Jan Roelof and Eugenia's Engagement Photos at Golden Gardens

Eugenia and Jan Roelof are an international couple who plan to wed later this month at The Canal.

When we met for their wedding ceremony planning session, both raved about John Chin and how comfortable they felt doing their engagement photographs.

I thought that was a very nice compliment for John!

And it bodes well for their wedding photos as well.

Eugenia and Jan Roelof look so happy.  And their ceremony is going to be wonderful.  (Kent will be officiating for them.)  Many bright days are in their future together.

The Ultimate Wedding - Andrew & Jillian Marry at The Canal

Ready for Ultimate? 

Jillian (a National Ultimate Frisbee Champion) and Andrew say "yes" to marriage in September 2012.


 










 

The guys were happy for Andrew:  he was the man of the day!
 








The ladies had their bouquets and their "oh so chic" sunglasses.
(Loved the aqua and orange color theme of the wedding.)

Jillian was in fine form!

Together, the team was good to go!

On to the ceremony ...
It was a beautiful day so it took place on the patio.  Jillian's twin nieces were the most adorable flower girls.







Two of the couple's friends - Leah and Lisa - shared a few memories about Jillian and Andrew's relationship.  They really added a personal touch to the ceremony.

 
Then, the bride and groom shared vows they wrote:  funny, touching, loving, memorable!  








Mr. and Mrs. made their way to the entrance of The Canal and made their marriage legal.  Their sisters were the witnesses, which made it a special moment.

The two were pleased with their ceremony:

Kenny and Kristin are Blessed with Seattle Rain on Their Wedding Day

Ah, autumn on the UW campus is absolutley spectacular. Kristin and Kenny began their wedding day with photos at the hotel (The Hotel Deca), then went on to the UW before making their way to the wedding and reception site (The Canal).

It was a day worth dancing about!  Kristin was a gorgeous bride.

The wedding party was quite the picture.  And, ok, aren't the umbrellas wonderful!  They do add a certain elan.

And "brellas" are just plain fun, too! 



Then, on to The Canal for the wedding ceremony and the reception.

Kristin and Kenny are obviously happy!!!

And the ceremony well ... very well!

Thanks so much for everything! 

We got so many comments about how wonderful the ceremony was 

and feel like you guys really worked with us to give us exactly what we were looking for. 

Many people commented on how 'us' the ceremony was, 

so I'd say you were successfully able to capture our personalities,

Kevin and Diane Exchange Their Marriage Vows at The Canal

Music is very important to Diane and Kevin. They wanted live performers for their ceremony and invited Laura Roundy and her fellow violinist to play several duets as part of the ceremony.

Kevin's father, Pat, has a deep, rich voice. He has sung at each of his children's weddings. It was very important for Kevin to have his father sing at his wedding as well. The experience meant a lot to Kevin!





Family is very important to the couple. Both the elders and the youngsters had a place in their wedding ceremony.

The couple decided on a candle ceremony and asked six family members to light one candle each, symbolizing the principles Kevin and Diane wanted their marriage to rest upon: unity, self-determination, mutual responsibility, connection, purpose and creativity.

Then, Diane and Kevin lit the last candle to signify their faith: a faith in themselves and their relationship, a faith that brought them to wed and will see them through all that is to come.
