Trevor & Jenna Seal Their Wedding Vows at the Lake Union Cafe

The Lake Union Cafe is such an incredible space to celebrate a wedding.  From the first encounter with this historic building, it enchants you with its character, beginning with the classic revolving door.  But there is nothing "revolving" about Trevor and Jenna. The two are very much in love ... and are now a married couple.
 

Isn't this a totally elegant place to exchange wedding vows?

All eyes and attention were on the couple.  Love filled the space.

And everyone was so happy for the bride and groom!

Right after the ceremony, the marriage certificate was signed.  There is the "lounge" area near the entrance which is perfect for this.  The couple gets a few minutes to take in everything and relax with their closest friends and family.

To say the least, Trevor was "floating" with elation!  Good thing he and Jenna were holding hands.

Jeff & Diana's "Love in the Rain" Wedding Ceremony

 "Thank you, Kent! It was really a pleasure working with you and Pat. The wedding was an unbelievable experience, on many levels, and including for one reason you called out - it was amazing to have so many people there who love us, and to feel that joy and delight you mention. I was so glad that we wrote our own vows, personalized the ceremony with your and Pat's guidance, involved many friends to sing, speak, play (and even chauffeur!), and that we included the community affirmation language. "

The bride and groom glowed ... and their day was blessed by the rain (very auspicious).   Thankfully, the tent kept the guests dry and comfortable and the best man shielded the bride from any stray droplets. (Yes, Kent brought a white umbrella to the wedding and it really came in handy. And I love the look of the clear tent.)

As you can see in the photo above, the wedding party was quite cozy under the focal point tree in the garden.  It created a sense of intimacy and connection, reflecting key values of the couple. What impressed my husband the most was the joy of the experience.  This unique couple enjoyed their moment, rain or shine.

Words from the heart are the best words!

Diana and Jeff exchanged their personal vows in Parsons Garden (Queen Anne area of Seattle).  It was in this very park the two shared their first date.  

During their courtship, "they climbed mountain peaks, walked deserted beaches, got lost together, sat quietly side by side together," in Jeff's words.  What made each moment better was that they experienced it all together.

The two designed their wedding rings. They wanted them to reflect a sense of movement and to signify the flow of life.  And they were beautiful.

Off they go, happy and in love.

Their wedding day was as memorable as any could be.  Spirits were high and I'm sure will remain so.  Wishing the two a happy, healthy and long-lived journey through life together.

Aloha Newlyweds - Michael & Kendra at De Lille Cellars (Woodinville)

Mr. and Mrs.

Talk about a couple who added their signature to their wedding day.  It has to be Kendra and Michael.  Everything was thought out, "crafting" parties were held, and the resulting wedding day was memorable.

Nieces & nephew all took part!

The two decided on a Thursday wedding and guests traveled from all over to be there, even from Japan.  Everyone was so happy for the union and spirits were high ... and the sun emerged (even thought the forecast was for rain).

They crafted the signs & added photos all along the fence.

And it was impossible to get lost!

Hand crafted flags, a hand-painted sign and pompoms of color festooned the meadow and the trees.

Guests were photographed with various props (I chose the huge red glasses), the photo printed and each person mounted their pic in the guestbook.  Each page had a line of the couple's favorite song hand entered at the top of each page.   

Check out the table settings.  Near each plate was a picture of that person, a photo of the bride and groom, the person's name and some blackberry jam (yum).

And the table you cupcakes and love birds were enticing.

Stephanie and Reese - A Beautiful Wedding at Hidden Meadows

The Snohomish Valley takes your breath away with great sunsets.

Every time of the year is a wonderful time to wed.  In the Pacific Northwest, summer is the favorite time.  Particularly, the last weekend of July (I've heard it is statistically the weekend with the least possibility of rain).  For Reese and Stephanie, their wedding day was clear and sunny...and the sunset was spectacular!

What I remember most clearly from this ceremony is the "words of wisdom" from Rob, Stephanie’s dad.  He explained to her that in every relationship one person is like the balloon and the other is the string. In this relationship, Reese is the balloon, he is the dreamer, and Stephanie is the string, she keeps the two on task and grounded in reality. They are a good match!  I think this photo says it all.

It was a magic day, captured wonderfully by Joe and Jill Photography.

Tom and Emma Recreate Hogwarts At Their Wedding Reception

Tom & Emma Receive Well Wishes From Relatives

There is so much to say about this wedding and reception.  What an incredibly creative event, start to finish!

The ceremony took place at Cougar Mountain.  The scenery is breathtaking and Emma wowed guests with her love song to Tom.

Then on to the Bellevue Westin, where Erin Lindeman coordinated with John Gardner of Aria Style and Brian Dale of Wave Link Music to recreate Hogwarts.  Black sleek chair covers, long tables named after the houses (we were seated at Ravenclaw), orange, red and yellow floral arrangements, light patterns on the ceiling all contributed to the stunning effect.  The cake included several pieces:  images of the bride and groom reading Harry Potter books lounging between tomes from Hogwarts. It was created by Mike's Amazing Cakes ... and it was amazing!  In the background, Cuba music lifted the energy of the gathering, reflective of Emma's heritage.  And the video gamers had an Xbox to enjoy.

There was so much to love about this couple and this wedding, I could go on forever.  Will need to wait for photos from the professionals and share more then.

So thankful Emma and Tom included us in their amazing day.  Wishing them happiness and health for decades to come!!!

Aaron & Kristin Wed on Mt. Rainier

This very amazing couple decided to exchange their marriage vows at Ricksecker Point.  It was a holiday weekend.  Family and friends flew in from all over the country to converge in Ashford, then ventured forth in the rain into Mt. Rainier National Park.

Although we only caught glimpses of the mountain, Kristin and Aaron's love warmed everyone's heart.  The umbrellas lent a festival touch to the celebration and there was a sense of connection created by the mist.

Oh, and the air was absolutely delicious!!!  So cool and clean.  I couldn't breathe in enough of it.

After the nuptials, the bride and groom headed off for a short hike.  We hope they enjoy endless trails together!!  So fun.  Meanwhile we indulged in wonderful marionberry pie from Copper Creek Inn.

Jack & Joh Share Their Wedding Vows at Carkeek Park

Jack and Johanna are FEARLESS!  They decided to marry in April outside at Carkeek Park, then celebrate at the Museum of Flight.

The day turned out beautifully:  clear, calm, warm and sunny with just the right cloud cover during the ceremony.  The setting was stunning:  the Olympics were clearly visibile and the water of the Puget Sound sparkling.  The couple was beaming with joy.

They married on a Thursday, mainly because of their work schedules.  I find midweek weddings are becoming more common.  There is greater availability of wedding services and there may also be lower costs.  Plus, if guests are from out of town (as they were in this case), it gives them a chance to make a vacation out of the trip.


The couple was delighted to have so many of the grandparents at the occasion.  

 


After the ceremony, we had a chance to take photographs in the area.   The salmon slide was particularly fun.







Joh got to show off her very favorite boots  - she bought a new pair just for the wedding - to go with the wedding dress her mother made.

The bride and groom feel so fortunate to have found each other and for their long-time friendship to mature into their new relationship as husband and wife. 

Kent and I hope their journey through life together is smooth sailing!
