Ryan and Julianne Travel to Seattle to Wed at the Woodmark Hotel

You could say it started on the playground

  about four years ago

  doing what we both love to do.

You could say it started in the hallway

  you smiled and said "Hey" and that was it ...

I don't believe in love at first sight.

I never believed in fairy tales ...

The words above are the lyrics to the first verse of a song Julianne created with her good friend, Kimberly.  It describes the history and feelings Julianne and Ryan share.  

Julianne's bracelet is a chic accent.

It was a gift ... and a surprise for Ryan.  Kimberly performed the song entitled Then There was You during the ceremony while Ryan and Julianne listened, standing hand in hand.  

The tent at the Woodmark Hotel is truly elegant.

The bride and groom decided to celebrate their wedding at the Woodmark Hotel for a number of reasons.  They both love the water, they wanted an elegant, peaceful place and some where that had meaning for them. 

It so happens that Ryan attended the Puget Sound Adventist Academy, which is right up the hill from the hotel, and his high school graduation dinner took place there too.

Julianne and Ryan spoke personal words to each other.  I loved it.  What could be better! 

Everyone was so happy for Rayn and Julianne.  Before the ceremony, you could feel the joy of those in the process.  After the ceremony, that joy exploded.  A very happy group of people.

If possible, I find it works well to sign the marriage documents right after the ceremony.  It gives the couple a few minutes to take in the ceremony.  Then they can join the cocktail hour ... or wait to be formally introduced at the beginning of the reception.

To provide a bit of historical context, the first time Julianne saw Ryan, her friend commented that she should marry him.  Now, those words are true (who says words don't have power).  Both feel so lucky to have the other in their lives.  Wishing Ryan and Julianne an amazing life together, filled with many happy adventures.

Brent and Erin Wed at Roche Harbor

Mr. & Mrs. are just plain happy.

The bride and groom really wanted their wedding ceremony to take place outdoors.  There was rain in the morning, tapering off in the afternoon ... and by the time the guests arrived for the ceremony, the sun was actually peeking out from the clouds!  How great is that!!!

Eight of us flew to San Juan Island.

I felt so fortunate to be the officiant.  The bride and groom are the best!  It was a joy to get to know them through premarital and planning sessions.  As a bonus, I also got to take my first seaplane ride.

Loved how people traveled from all over to witness Erin and Brent exchange their wedding vows and celebrate with them.  And how there were so many personal touches both in the ceremony (the mothers and grandmother received leis) and at the celebration.

And how the entire weekend was child friendly.  Who knew umbrellas could be so much fun!

Sometimes, I end up with photos I didn't really intend to take ... and sometimes they are kinda interesting.  I liked this one of the woman's shoes.

The wedding cake was delish!  Erin's sister, Amy, made it at Roche Harbor.  She experimented forever to get just the right combination of ingredients.  It was worth the effort.  And friends brought a huge tub of the bride's favorite ice cream from Mallard Ice Cream in Bellingham.  Yum!

The toasts were one of the highlights of the evenings.  Tracy 's words had both humor and heartfelt sentiment.  And then, the dancing and festivities began!!!  It was a night to remember.

Aaron & Kristin Wed on Mt. Rainier

This very amazing couple decided to exchange their marriage vows at Ricksecker Point.  It was a holiday weekend.  Family and friends flew in from all over the country to converge in Ashford, then ventured forth in the rain into Mt. Rainier National Park.

Although we only caught glimpses of the mountain, Kristin and Aaron's love warmed everyone's heart.  The umbrellas lent a festival touch to the celebration and there was a sense of connection created by the mist.

Oh, and the air was absolutely delicious!!!  So cool and clean.  I couldn't breathe in enough of it.

After the nuptials, the bride and groom headed off for a short hike.  We hope they enjoy endless trails together!!  So fun.  Meanwhile we indulged in wonderful marionberry pie from Copper Creek Inn.
