Two Wedding Dresses: The Long and the Short of It!

Carly and Michael wed at the Hollywood Schoolhouse.  The bride wore a traditional floor-length wedding dress for the ceremony and then changed into a knee-length dress for the reception.

It is a great idea ... especially if you plan to do a lot of dancing.

I guess I'm dating myself ... I remember when the bride changed after the reception into a "traveling" dress.  Perhaps all good things come back into style once again.

Flowers Created by Florist for Her Daughter's Wedding!

 
Carly and Michael wed at the Hollywood Schoolhouse in October.  The bride is a very lucky gal because her mother, Laurel Mitchell, is the Laurel of Laurel's Floral Decor. 


 




The wedding colors were grey with bright yellow and sage  -- very contemporary and bright!  Here is one of the bridesmaid's bouquets.  




 



 
Carly's bouquet, complete with lace and brooch, had a vintage air. Perfect for a wedding at the historic Hollywood Schoolhouse.





Doesn't it perfectly harmonize with her dress?

I like this trend.  Yellow is such a hopeful color.  When the skies turn Seattle grey, it makes me happy to look at it.







As you may know, Kent is about 6'8" tall.  When Laurel was designing the arbor, it initially was a bit too low for my hubby.  With modifications, it all worked out beautifully.

The tables were simply elegant!

Carly is one lucky daughter.  I'm sure it made her wedding day that much more special to have her mother design her wedding with her.  When we would see either Carly or Laurel before the wedding day, they were always so excited and happy.

Nicole and Ken Wed at the Hollywood Schoolhouse

At the Seattle Wedding Show, I chanced to see Nicole.  She had the photos from their wedding and wanted to share them with us.  (Kent officiated for the two of them in 2011.)  Nicole and Ken seem even happier today than when they married! 

As you can see, Nicole is obviously happy ... and ready to say "I do!"  (Hmm ... her shoes are blue ... shoes of color are definitely a popular trend and also represent "something blue.")








Just look at the two.  So in love!!!





A unity candle lighting was a very good choice for the Hollywood Schoolhouse.  The brick and wood are the perfect drop for the candle lighting.







This is one of Nicole's favorite photos:  it is obviously a joyous moment in the ceremony plus she loved how happy Kent looked!

Eric & Jessica Wed At the Hollywood Schoolhouse

Yes, the bride and groom are so very happy ... and so are all their friends! It was a beautiful day in April ... yes, April in Seattle (well, Woodinville, actually) ... to exchange wedding vows and celebrate love.

Kent officiated and he was grinning ear to ear when he told me about the wedding. All went well: gorgeous flowers and decor, good music, and as always the staff at the Hollywood Schoolhouse were their professional best. Add family and friends and you have the making of a great celebration.


Of course, the kiss was the highlight of the ceremony. As you can see from the expressions on bridesmaids' faces, it was a kiss to remember!

After the ceremony, there is this amazing glow. It is a great time to schedule some "you" time. Just looking at these photos, you can feel the love Eric and Jessica share.
