What a perfect autumn day! What a perfect day for a wedding!
I love sunshine and completely enjoyed the drive from Seattle to Alderbrook Resort & Spa. Kent and I once bicycled along the Hood Canal part of the route and camped at Twanoh State Park. Such good memories of the area.
And now I have another one.
Brigitte is from The Netherlands. Her father and sister along with a number of close friends made the journey to Union, WA. Her mother wasn't well enough to fly so Skype came to the rescue.
Living out of the "country,", Brigitte researched wedding venues online and feel in love with Alderbrook Resort & Spa. It turns out that it is also dear to Scott because his extended family enjoyed summer vacations here when he was a child and he has wonderful memories of the place. Independently, the two came to the same conclusion: this is where they wanted to wed.
This is one of the initial photos. More to come and more to share about this very lovely wedding.
Wishing Scott and Brigitte years and years of happiness and health!

Thank you for thinking of us, but... Pat Stimac is no longer with us. She joined her angels July 20, 2016 after a two year bout with cancer. Kent Buttars stopped officiating weddings at the end of 2017. Thanks to our thousands of couples over the last 20 years for the happiness they brought, and to our many valued friends in the wedding industry.

Ania and Chad's Elegant Wedding at Alderbrook Resort & Spa
Chad and Ania wed at Alderbrook Resort and Spa, one of the most romantic venues on the Hood Canal. The wedding had a classic look: black and white.
The bridesmaids and groomsmen was so excited for the wedding.
We have been so blessed with great weather this summer and their wedding day was no exception. Sunshine just added an extra glow to everyone's happiness.
Since they ceremony took place very close to the water, the two decided to include Blessing Stones. They each had a stone which they threw into the water, with the entwining ripples representing their love. As the circles extended out, it symbolized their love radiating out into their community of family and friends and then into the broader world.
The two seal their wedding vows with a kiss ... before taking a boat ride on the Canal.
Wishing Chad and Ania the happiest of marriages!
The bride and groom had a wonderful wedding team:
Ellen Peterson of Serenity Weddings was the wedding planner.
Sally Honeycutt of Sea Studio gave us these photos.
Moetic Wedding Films captured the event on video.
Being a destination wedding, it is important to acknowledge the staff at Alderbrook Resort and Spa.
