Pam and Evan "Tie the Knot" -- a Very Wonderful Knot at the Blue Ribbon Cooking School

"From this day forward, I choose you ... "

Pam and Evan know they found the "right" person to share their lives with.  Someone to laugh with, to listen to loud music with, to dance slow with, to play "Hands and Feet" with, to cheer with at Sounder's and Seahawks' games, to celebrate all the good timess in life, and to see each other through the other times.

Pre-ceremony, the wedding headed over to Gas Works Park for photos.  Here are the guys.

Here are the gals.
Here is the entire wedding party.

Then, on to the ceremony and reception at the Blue Ribbon Cooking School.  It was a touching ceremony, made more so by the love that Pam and Evan so obviously share.

Happiness was in the air!!!

Well, there was a range of emotion generated by the wedding ... no mind ... Pam and Evan were happy.

There's this great tree right outside of the Blue Ribbon.  It is a perfect place to kiss!

Pam and Evan has a lot of fans cheering them on in their marriage, including me.

Thanks to Kristin Boyett for the photos.

The Velveteen Rabbit

What is REAL?’ asked the Rabbit one day. . . . “Does it mean having things that buzz inside you and a stick-out handle?’

Real isn’t how you are made,’ said the Skin Horse.  “It’s a thing that happens to you.  When a child loves you for a long, long time, not just to play with but REALLY loves you, then you become Real.

Yes, this cherished childhood story is so suitable for a wedding.  Recently, Jeff and Mary decided to include it in their ceremony and asked Jeff's mother to present it.

She secretly bought a copy of the book to give to the bride and groom as a wedding present and keepsake of te ceremony.  She also purcased a stuffed rabbit ... and on the "bum" of the bunny had te following words embroidered.

Isn't this the cutest?  It was a wonderful surprise for the bride and groom!  I loved it!!!  How thoughtful and creative.

Michael and Jil - Love Leads to Marriage at the Hall at Fauntleroy

Of this we are certain.
You are lodged in
my heart.
The small key is lost.
You must stay there forever.

And so Jil and Michael decided to wed. As for all fall weddings in the Pacific Northwest, you never know what the weather will be. The bride and groom were so fortunate to have a window of sun to enjoy an outdoor marriage. Then, inside for the cocktail hour and reception. It worked out well!

T
he colors of the flowers so enhanced the bridesmaids' dresses. I loved the look.

V
ows are always the highlight of the ceremony. Jil and Michael first read unique words to each other and then concluded with words they said together. Magic!

Y
es, things are looking quite bright for Michael and Jil. We wish them love ... always!

Many thanks to Mike Fiechtner for the wonderful photographs.

Raise the Cake -- Raises the Bar

Isn't this awesome!

Kathy Jo Peterson of Raise the Cake featured this cake by Christopher Garren in her latest Coordinator Spotlight newsletter. According to Kathy Jo, every cake needs a stand. I think she's right.  The cake does show better when it is elevated.

Once she came to this realization, her business was born.

In this case, she worked from a sketch of the cake to create the coordinated stand.  Stands are also available for cupcakes, doughnuts, individual cheese cake and pies, of course!!!  For more information, check out Kathy Jo's website:  www.raisethecake.com.

When planning a wedding, all the details come together to create an impression.  Just as Kathy Jo's handiwork truly elevates the cake, good writing elevates the ceremony.  For assistance in finding just the right words for the two of you, contact us at (206)789-9788 or through our website www.aheavenlyceremony.com.

Brent and Erin Wed at Roche Harbor

Mr. & Mrs. are just plain happy.

T
he bride and groom really wanted their wedding ceremony to take place outdoors.  There was rain in the morning, tapering off in the afternoon ... and by the time the guests arrived for the ceremony, the sun was actually peeking out from the clouds!  How great is that!!!

Eight of us flew to San Juan Island.

I
felt so fortunate to be the officiant.  The bride and groom are the best!  It was a joy to get to know them through premarital and planning sessions.  As a bonus, I also got to take my first seaplane ride.
Loved how people traveled from all over to witness Erin and Brent exchange their wedding vows and celebrate with them.  And how there were so many personal touches both in the ceremony (the mothers and grandmother received leis) and at the celebration.
.
Linda looked great in her lei.

No need to have rain to find a use for these bumbershoots.

A
nd how the entire weekend was child friendly.  Who knew umbrellas could be so much fun!

S
ometimes, I end up with photos I didn't really intend to take ... and sometimes they are kinda interesting.  I liked this one of the woman's shoes.

The wedding cake was delish!  Erin's sister, Amy, made it at Roche Harbor.  She experimented forever to get just the right combination of ingredients.  It was worth the effort.  And friends brought a huge tub of the bride's favorite ice cream from Mallard Ice Cream in Bellingham.  Yum!

T
he toasts were one of the highlights of the evenings.  Tracy 's words had both humor and heartfelt sentiment.  And then, the dancing and festivities began!!!  It was a night to remember.

Wishing the couple all the best in the world in their journey together as husband and wife!

Hidden Meadows Hosts Andrea and Adam's Wedding

"A good relationship has a pattern like a dance and is built on some of the same rules. The partners do not need to hold on tightly, because they move confidently in the same pattern, intricate but gay and swift and free ... they know they are partners moving to the same rhythm, creating a pattern together, and being invisibly nourished by it." ~Anne Morrow Lindbergh

What a beautiful day for a wedding!

The bride and groom had time before the ceremony to take photographs at many scenic sites on the grounds. Above is the covered patio where guests enjoyed refreshments after the ceremony and to the side is the breezeway that the guests enter by.

Scheduling the photographs before the ceremony still creates the "initial reveal," which is a moment not to be missed. It also works out so well both for having leisurely enjoying some time together before the ceremony and for capturing all those precious moments.

T
he ceremony itself took place in front of the gazebo. Adam and Andrea's love was apparent to all. (Smile!)

Mr. and Mrs. exited and took a ride together in a horse-drawn carriage. How romantic is that!!!

W
e hope their path of marriage is fulfilling, long lived and romantic!
